Shadow
Golden Moss
This
month 'Photo of the Month' is dedicated to
"Moss" owned by Maureen Arnould of the Shadoway
Kennels, UK. Maureen kindly gave me permission to
feature her beloved Moss who was taken from her so
suddenly and unexpectedly at the end of March 2010.
My sincere thanks to Maureen for her courage and devotion
in allowing me to feature 'Moss' as our Sheltie of the
Month. Below you can read Maureen's thoughts and
treasured memories of her very brave boy, words which have
inspired me to create a new page on our site for all those
beloved shelties who are no longer with us.
'Moss
was born 7th December 2000 and was registered with
the UK Kennel club as Shadoway Golden Moss. He was by
Blenmerrow Running Wild out of Blenmerrow Masquerade of
Shadoway. As a puppy/junior he had a brief career
in the show ring but grew slightly too big.
Moss was always a happy little fellow, willing
to tackle most challenges, the first of my shelties to
jump in the river or paddle in the sea. On our
forest walks, my other shelties took courage and
confidence from him. He was also a gentle
and loving companion, liked meeting and being
with people and offered his friendship to
everyone he met.
In February/ March this year, he seemed to have lost
some of his sparkle, stood back rather than leading
the pack, but nothing to suggest that his life was
drawing to a close. He died on the 26th March
2010, went quietly, tail still wagging gently, trusting
in those around him. It has been devastating to
lose my lovely brave boy at such a young age."
At
the end of April, Moss will be featured on the new page
for all those shelties who have gone to Rainbow Bridge
leaving behind treasured memories and owners who will
never forget them, so do please
send in any photos and tributes you would like to see
included.
